Before video platforms, before AI — there was a site called iOSstudy (iosstudy.ru back then) that sold iOS development courses on actual discs, shipped by courier. Ten hours of video, forty lessons, two DVDs in a box.
Fifteen years later the name goes global. Same mission — teach people to build real apps — now in English, for everyone. And the teacher is an AI that works inside your Xcode.
The original iOSstudy courses — burned, boxed and couriered. 2011.
The short version of a long road — from Objective-C on discs to an AI tutor on your screen.
Founder Nikolay Smorgun was well into programming by his teens and recorded his first professional video course on the iOS SDK — Objective-C, starting with iOS 5 and updated through iOS 6. No streaming back then that could carry ten hours of HD: courses went out on DVDs, by courier — from the original Russian-language site, iosstudy.ru.
The part that stuck wasn't the discs. One student went from a village with no work to a developer job in the city. Another was a policeman who had always wanted a creative profession — and switched to IT. That's the effect this school exists for.
The courses grew into a studio: more authors, more topics, and then a game team of seven. CMS Games self-published titles on the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Store.
One of them — a little arcade called Drunken Bee, built over a weekend — flew into the Windows Store Top 10 «New & Rising» next to LEGO and Star Wars. Small team, real market, real users: the exact loop we teach today.
The studio still operates today — CMS Games.

In between: production iOS work — including the auto.ru app — and years of shipping software professionally. Teaching never really stopped; it just waited for a better medium than a disc.
That medium finally exists. The new iOSstudy pairs structured courses with an AI Tutor — a native Mac app that opens Xcode with you, types code on your screen at human speed, checks that you can do it yourself, and answers questions out loud. It's the teacher we wished we could ship in every DVD box.
Then: a shelf of boxed courses. Now: an AI tutor inside your Xcode.
iOSstudy is built around a simple belief: the most valuable skill in the AI era isn't passing an interview — it's turning an idea into a product you own and grow.
So we don't frame learning around getting hired. We frame it around building your own app business — designing, shipping and selling real products for Apple platforms, the way this school's founder has been doing since before the App Store had a search tab worth arguing about.
The goal isn't to become an employee.
It's to become a builder who ships.
Your own products. Your own App Store listing. Your own business.
Everything taught here is something Nikolay and his teams have actually done: shipped games, production apps with real users, launches on three app stores, and fifteen years of explaining iOS to beginners — first on discs, now through an AI tutor trained on that same teaching style.
It's the difference between learning from a course farm and learning from a builder.
Start the same way students did in 2011 — with a real lesson. Except now it's free, and the teacher talks back.
